Major Ceada F. Fernando MBE |
||
He held the appointments of District Officer (22.10.1954), Recruiting Officer (01.05.1957) and Adjutant 2(V) LAA Regt. Ceylon Artillery (10.10.1954) and took part in Anti-illicit Immigration and Anti-Terrorist duties. On 26.02.1968 he retired from the Army with the rank of Major and was transferred to the Reserve. He had been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) Military Division, on 09.06.1955 and the insignia was presented to him by the Governor General at a ceremony held at the Queen's House in Colombo. His other medals include the War medal and Defence Medal (1939-45), Coronation Medal 1953, EM [Ceylon] with 1st clasp and the Ceylon Armed Services Inauguration Medal. Major Ceada Felix Fernando MBE now resides in Australia. |
