This book will contain details and the complete Medal Rolls for-

1. The Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration (VD)
2. The Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal
3. The Efficiency Decoration [Ceylon] (ED)
4. The Efficiency Medal [Ceylon]
5. The Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Decoration (VRD)
6. The Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal

It will also contain photographs and biographical details of recipients of the above awards (where available), gathered from regimental histories, genealogical sources such as the Journal of the Dutch Burgher Union, The Ceylon Civil Lists, The Who's Who, Debretts and Kellys, and various publications of that time, such as the Ceylon Blue and Green books, The Ferguson directories etc...

Wherever possible, I have cross referenced recipients of two or more of the above awards and have also tried to list their other medal entitlements.

The Appendices will contain details about the Kariyakshama Seva Vibushanaya (KSV) and the Kariyakshama Seva Padakkama (KSP), the current awards for long service in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, and details about the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Centenary Medal 1981.

The photograph on the proposed cover of this book shows the Medal Group belonging to Col. F.G.Smith OBE ED, a former Commanding Officer of the Ceylon Army Medical Corps, who was the recipient of both the Efficiency Decoration and the Efficiency Medal.
